Day 6 of Prayer fore the Nelson Baptist Association

Thank you for joining us over the past several days as we pray for our local association!  Please remember these churches in prayer today, along with their pastors and pastor’s wives:

You can learn more about this ministry at this website: https://disciplethenations.org/

Day 5 of Prayer for the Nelson Baptist Association

We are beginning to wind-down our week of prayer for our local association. We will be praying for the following churches, along with their pastors and pastor’s wives:

New Beginning Baptist Church: Jeffery & Gayle Griggs
New Salem Baptist Church: Billy & Dawn Cross
Parkway Baptist Church: James & Mikila Carroll
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church: Robbie & MaryJo Fairley
Redeemer Fellowship Church: Matthew & Tracy Spandler-Davison
River View Baptist Church: Chad & Krystal Morrow
Rolling Fork Baptist Church: Bruce & Rhonda Nichols

Today we will be praying for our association partner Mark12 Ministries. Mark12 believes that homelessness and poverty are the result of broken relationships. God established four foundational relationships for each person: a relationship with God, with self, with others, and with the rest of creation. These relationships are the building blocks for all of life. Our relationship with God is broken by sin. We realize that this is the most important relationship to rebuild and it is the center of Mark 12 Ministries. In order to accomplish this goal, it provides several services including: Healing Together, Pathway Home, Operation Restore, and the Outreach Thrift Shop. Last year Mark12 provided over $66,000 in assistance to over 450 families! Here is how we can pray for Mark12:

1) For Volunteers: From help at the thrift shop to workers at the white flag shelter, volunteers are a vital part of providing all types of needed services to Mark 12 Ministries.

2) For Grace Village: Grace Village is a project of Mark12, a transitional facility for up to 12 people in Bullitt County.

3) For the Outreach Thrift Fashion Show: Come join Mark12 at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre for a fabulous fashion show featuring all things red, white, and blue! All of their models will be styled in outfits from the Outreach Thrift Shop.Get your tickets here: https://RWBfashionshow.eventbrite.com

Day 4 of Prayer for the Nelson Baptist Association

Thank you for joining us so far in our week of prayer for our local association!  We continue today with the following churches:

Mercy Hill Church: Nathan & Cameron Young
Mill Creek Baptist Church: Gary & Cindy Chesser
Mt. Carmel Baptist Church: Mike & Amanda Nalley (this is where I pastor!)
Mt. Eden Baptist Church: Gene & Rebecca Travis
Mt. Moriah Baptist Church: Darron & Deana Chapman
Mt. Zion Baptist Church Billy & Angela Jenkins

The ministry that we will be praying for today is 20schemes.  Through one of our association pastors, Matthew Spandler-Davison, our association has been connected to this ministry for many years.  20schemes exists to bring the light of the Gospel to Scotland’s schemes through church planting and revitalization.  For such a little nation, Scotland has a rich gospel heritage. However, what once was known as ‘the land of the Book’ is no longer. Today, biblical Christianity has been sidelined in Scotland. Only 2.5% of Scots would call themselves Evangelical Christians, and in Scotland’s poorest communities, the housing schemes, the picture is even bleaker!  But they believe that building healthy, Gospel preaching churches in Scotland’s poorest communities will bring true renewal to Scotland’s schemes. Will you pray for Gospel churches to be planted in Scotland’s poorest communities? Will you pray for the church planting teams working in schemes throughout Scotland? Will you pray for Gospel-fruit, as cycles of abuse are broken, lives are transformed and turned to Jesus? Will you pray for the next generation of indigenous church leaders? Will you pray for partners, churches and ministries to resource this work?  Find out more at their website: https://20schemes.com/

Day 3 of Prayer for the Nelson Baptist Association

This is the third day of prayer for our local association.  Today, we will be praying for the following churches and their pastors and pastor’s wives:

FBC Lebanon Junction: Jamie & Jennifer Vance
FBC Mt. Washington: Vacant
FBC New Haven: Aaron & Renee Shipp
FBC Shepherdsville: Sam & Bethany Killman
Hobbs Baptist Church: Vacant
Immanuel Baptist Church: Carl & Roberta Thomas
Little Union Baptist Church: Will & Lola Sipes

Please notice that two of the churches that we are praying for do not have pastors.  So, please pray for their congregations and pastor search committees.

We are also going to be praying for our partner ALC Pregnancy Resource Center. ALC is a community resource that exists to support women and families facing or having faced an unplanned or crisis pregnancy. They encourage and equip women to make educated decisions about their pregnancy. ALC Pregnancy Support Center will (these are all areas that we can pray for):

1) Educate women facing an unplanned pregnancy about the choices and decisions they are facing.

2) Offer free pregnancy testing.

3) Offer up to date information on sexually transmitted infections.

4) Provide free limited ultrasounds to women with a positive pregnancy test performed at ALC and medical approval.

5) Provide emotional support for women after abortion.

6) Offer all services free of charge and confidentially.
