Welcome to the Nelson Baptist Association homepage for the 2014 Associational Missions Emphasis Week of Prayer. You’ll find below a letter of introduction from our Director of Missions, Stan Lowery, as well as downloadable resources you may distribute to your church. Thank you for joining us in prayer!
Dear Pastor and/or Church Leader,
I want to personally thank you for your partnership in the gospel of Jesus Christ! I am thankful for your support and for the work you do in His ministry!
Enclosed you will find materials that can be used by you and your church for an emphasis on associational missions. You will find a prayer card, prayer guide, and an informational-type piece entitled “Every Association Needs.” The Week of Prayer emphasis is scheduled for May 18th-25th, but can be done at another time if you and your church needs to do so; you will notice that the pieces are undated for this very reason. Please be aware that we will be sending the documents to your church by email so that you can make copies or adjustments as you need to do so. Electronic copies will also be available on our website. Also on the website will be other supporting material that could be used to share during worship, small group, or a prayer meeting setting. Please use these as appropriate for your church.
We are asking each church to consider doing three things during the emphasis on associational missions:
- Join us in prayer as we pray for each church and the ministry we do together in and through our association.
- Take this opportunity to educate the congregation of the work and role of a Baptist association. If you would be interested in having a speaker from the association please let me know. We will do our best to line up someone to share with your church or small group.
- Receive a love offering for the ministry we do together. The Lord is working and in this time of transition, it is important that we do not forget to be faithful in our support of the ministry that He is doing in and through us. Please pray and allow the Lord to lead you in this regard.
