2018 Associational Missions Emphasis – Week of Prayer

Welcome to the 2018 Nelson Baptist Association Missions Emphasis homepage for Week of Prayer. Below you will find a letter from our Director of Missions, Stan Lowery.

Dear Pastor and/or Church Leader,

Thank you for your partnership in the gospel of Jesus Christ! I am thankful for your support and for the work you do in His ministry!

Attached you will find material that can be used during the Week of Prayer for Associational Missions. It is scheduled nationally for May 20 – 27 but can be done anytime that is best for you and your church – The materials are undated for this very reason. Please use them as you feel appropriate for you and your church.

Remember we are asking each church to consider doing three things:

  • Join us in prayer as we pray for each church and the ministry we do together in and through our association (please see Prayer Card and Prayer Guide).
  • Take this opportunity to educate the congregation of the work and role of a Baptist association. If you would be interested in having a speaker from the association please let me know. We will do our best to line up someone to share with your church or small group.
  • Receive a love offering for the support of the many partnerships (Scotland, Nepal, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, etc.) we are engaged in our association! It is important that we do not forget to be faithful in our support of these partnerships and the many other ministries that God is encouraging us to support and do together. Please pray and allow the Lord to lead you in this regard. If God leads you to take a love offering to support a different ministry that we support and participate in together just let us know so that it can get to the right place.

Thank you again for your ministry and your support. May God bless!

 Stan Lowery, Director of Missions
