Panel Discussion at NBA Annual Meeting

We will once again be hosting a panel discussion at this year’s Annual Meeting of the Nelson Baptist Association. Our topic this year will be Christian Hospitality: A Means of Loving Your Neighbor. Christian hospitality is a crucial element in building Christian community. Outside of the Gospel, it may well be one of the best means we have to promote close, brotherly love. It is especially important in churches where people really don’t know each other or where relationships are superficial, Sunday-morning-only relationships. Hospitality can also be an effective tool for evangelism. Showing Christ’s love to others by being hospitable is a great means Christians have to reach their neighbors for Christ and to help them see what true Christian faith really looks like.

Join our local association pastors – Mike Nalley (Mt. Carmel), James Carroll (Parkway), Marcus Daily (True Vine), and Matthew Spandler-Davison (Redeemer Fellowship) – as we look at what Christian hospitality is and how to practice it yourself.

The panel discussion will be hosted by The Church in Dialogue. Find out more about The Church in Dialogue by clicking on the Facebook icon below.

The panel discussion will be hosted in the sanctuary during at 6:00 p.m. during the 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Dinner/Ministry Booths portion of our Annual Meeting. We hope you will join us!

Register Messengers from Your Church for the NBA Annual Meeting

Please make sure your church has registered its messengers for the upcoming NBA Annual Meeting. Please be aware that there are some proposed changes to the constitution and by-laws that will be voted upon during the Worship/Business Session at 6:30 p.m. This is why each church needs to send messengers to the Annual Meeting. Only messengers will be allowed to vote or make a motion from the floor. You can register your church’s messengers at this link!

Constitution Meeting for the Association

We are once again amending the constitution for the Nelson Baptist Association.  Your church should’ve received a copy of the proposed changes and a cover letter explaining those changes back in early June.  If for some reason you did not receive that email or have misplaced it then you can download that information below (both documents are in WORD format).

We want to allow the people of our association churches to have a voice in this discussion so we are planning to host two discussion meetings to answer any questions or concerns they may have.  These meetings have been scheduled for:

1) Tuesday, August 8th at Bardstown Baptist Church in Bardstown at 6:30 p.m.

2) Tuesday, August 15th at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shepherdsville at 6:30 p.m.

Everyone is invited to attend.
