Today begins the week of prayer for Baptist Associations and we would love for you all to take some time this week to pray for our association. Each day we will highlight several of our association churches with their pastors and pastor’s wives, along with a specific ministry that our association is connected to.

Our association is also connected with Dan Pokharel and Global Mission Nepal. For centuries, Nepal was closed to the Gospel. Until 1950, not a single church or known believer existed within its borders. Yet, Christians from Raxaul, on the Indian side of the border, and from other nearby regions, gathered to pray—believing that one day God would open the door. In 1951, that door opened. Political changes allowed foreigners to enter Nepal for development work. Among them were humble followers of Christ who served through education, health, and community projects while quietly meeting for worship. Global Mission Nepal now plants churches in order to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Here are some of their prayer requests:

1) For Birgunj: A city of 700,000 people, deeply influenced by radical Hindu groups and home to a large Muslim population. Pray for peace, unity, and open hearts to receive the Gospel.

2) For the new church plant: That it would become a beacon of hope for rescued girls and a place of transformation through Jesus Christ.

3) For provision: Pray that God will provide the financial resources needed to rent a space and support this growing ministry.
